In my experience as a psychotherapist, I’ve come to realize that we all need an anchor when life gets stormy. The world can often feel overwhelming, filled with uncertainty, change, and challenges that push us to our limits. During these times, feeling anchored can make all the difference.
Therapy serves as a powerful anchor, offering a safe and supportive space where we can explore our thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. When our world feels chaotic, having a strong therapeutic relationship can provide the stability needed to process difficult feelings, gain clarity, and rebuild inner strength.
Having something solid to hold onto provides us with a sense of security, grounding and clarity, allowing us to navigate through the turbulence of life with resilience. When we’re anchored, we can better manage stress, make more grounded decisions, and find the strength to keep moving forward, even when the path seems unclear.
I see myself as my client's fellow traveler, guided by the belief that 'we are all in this together, and there is no therapist and no person immune to the inherent tragedies of existence' (Yalom). This perspective allows me to approach therapy with deep empathy, humility, and a shared sense of humanity. As a psychotherapist with an East European cultural background, I bring a unique understanding of diverse life experiences, having moved to New Zealand in 2002. My journey across cultures has enhanced my ability to connect with clients from various backgrounds, offering a compassionate and non-judgmental space for them to explore their challenges and seek healing.
I aim to provide that sense of grounding and solidity for my patients. Through active listening, empathetic understanding, and collaborative problem-solving, I work with my patients to help them find their own sources of resilience and grounding. Patients will have the opportunity to reconnect with themselves, rediscover their values, and develop healthier coping mechanisms—tools that act as anchors when life becomes overwhelming.

I specialize in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy combined with Existential Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. Additionally, I have received training in Mentalization-Based Treatment, which helps individuals better understand and interpret their own and others’ mental states, enhancing interpersonal effectiveness and emotional regulation. This combination of approaches allows me to provide tailored care to clients facing a variety of challenges and helps identify the underlying patterns affecting their emotional wellbeing. By addressing these patterns in a supportive and collaborative environment, we can foster your psychological growth and create the authentic and meaningful life that you envision.
